Gentle Ride #1 – Green Mountain National Forest

My friend Dustin and I headed up to Ripton, VT to meet my old friend Dan Hock of Bike Recycle VT for a 24 hour shred this weekend. We planned on riding the Oak Ridge Trail down to Lake Dunmore and Silver Lake, then ride the Liecester Hollow Trail loop and head back up to Ripton. We had some navigational issues due to riding in the dark and lacking a GPS system, but that’s pretty par for the course for us. The ride took us through logging and forest service roads, jeep tracks and some single track, with plenty of green forest scenery, some nice overlooks and a few places to stop and swim along the way. We explored and rode whatever looked good and made it back in plenty of time for some Tibetan food in Burlington the following night.
